Good way to pass the time while waiting for parts. :lame: At least I feel I'm making progress toward the final goal. :gun: In my world every HP counts. ;)

Looks very nice! Hey one thing I was thinking about doing is modding that dumb dog house on the top of the VC... Something to think about while your waiting. Just remove all the crap and weld a fitting coming off of the VC. I hate that leaking little thing.

They don't leak if you replace the o-rings and don't over titen the screws. I replace the rings avery time it comes off. I hate oil leaks. The mess up the driveway. the welded bung idea is a good one. I think there is a new mod being born. I have an extra set ov VC I may play with.

If you didn't have a laggy turbo you would though!!!
well thats what happens when you try different combos. im on the 3rd combo of 76mm turbo in 6 months. we have played with virtually every compressor and turbine wheel combination trying to build the most streetable "large" turbo possible. and the way you do it is keep trying. this combo we have been testing has been on the truck for about 2 months now, so the issues at the track are new. before this turbo, our problem at the track was traction. in phoenix i spun all 4 almost 100 feet, as well in vegas with mismatched gearing!!! so we may toss the old combo back on , and go back to the traction problem. its always something. now go back up that 11.5 on fuel!!!

Anyone think 1200ft/lbs of torque is crazy to accomplish fuel only? How about 3800rpm?

Put them together........over 850rwhp on fuel. Might take a little bit from the cam to hold out the 1200 to 3800rpm, but if the boost is still climbing, maybe not.

And what if you held out 1300ft/lbs.........940rwhp

Just something to think about while y'all are comparing peckers so to speak.

;)

Great in theory, but the block wont hold 850 RWHP.......without some serious mods

You're right, it woln't hold 850rwhp at TWENTY EIGHT HUNDRED rpm, because that equals SIXTEEN HUNDRED FOOT POUNDS of torque.

I said 1200 ft/lbs of torque. When's the last time you only made 1200ft/lbs? Probably in that dyno run on that video you posted. If properly timed, 1200ft/lbs is not anything to cry about.

Now 1600ft/lbs.....well, you'd better have a block made from unobtanium.

That happens to be the Whole point BTW.

Funny how a toyota inline 6 with 180ish cubic inches of displacement can make 1200+ rwhp on fuel with a stock headgasket and rods that look like our rocker arms on a block that's so tiny I could throw it over 10 feet by myself, but apparently a turbocharged big block v8 can't make 850 without ripping the block in two??? This is a daily driver car BTW. Not some roll off the trailer bs.

When the big block can't make more power......you should see that you have a problem. 3000ish rpm is that problem.

FWIW, a comparable sized big block V8 with turbocharging should and often DOES produce power in the 3000 PLUS horsepower range. And yet we can't make 850?

Not at 2800-3000 rpm for peak we damn sure can't.

That's the point.
