I started up my 97 this morning and it started to bog down real bad like it wants to die and then bounce back up. It will continue this the whole time. I pulled out of the drive way and tried to go 100 yards and nothing but barely chugging along even with throttle wide open. And before this ( LAST WEEK) i would be gradually gaining speed and the cel would come on and then I would have to power to pick up speed. It would just down shift and either maintain the speed or start to drop speed. please help asap.

Plain and simple, you need to get the codes read since the cel light came on. Which means a trip to the dealer or to a shop that has the correct scanner to check Ford's codes. Most auto parts stores can not read them.
I already did sorry. Forgot to mention that. I think I attached a picture of the codes off the scanner.

You might want to just post the codes since they can't be read from the photo that you posted.

Also you can do a search on what they are or what the description of them are in the narrative to the right of the codes.
P0344
P0478
P0470
P1211
P0603
I have swapped ICP with another no change.
THE P1211 CODE IS MOST LIKELY SETTING DUE TO A FUEL PRESSURE/VOLUME PROBLEM., THE PCM WILL RAISE ICP PRESSURE TO MAKE MORE POWER BUT DOES NOT SEE A RESULT BECAUSE THE PROBLEM IS ON THE FUEL SIDE. THE P0470 AND P0478 INDICATE A PROBLEM WITH THE EBP SENSOR OR THE TUBE. MAKE SURE THE TUBE IS NOT PLUGGED.
Ok I am still kinda new to this. Where is the ebp sensor and the tube located? And i am assuming EBP stands fpr exhaust back pressure.... Also for the fuel problem where do I start. It has 50psi (fuel) while its at a rough idle. I was going to go swap the IPR in about an hour. But I am not sure if that could be it or not.
Start by unplugging the exhaust back pressure valve electrical connector under the turbo. The EBP is on the exhaust side of the turbo and is used to help warm up the engine on cold starts.

The sensor for it is located on the front passenger side of the engine. There is a tube that clogs up that comes up from the exhaust manifold to it.
I will try and report in the morning. Thank you.
Ok I just blew air through the tube and picked clean the ebp sensor and it seems to have stopped the dipping in rpms but its still extremely rough idle.and it also is taking awhile to get the rpms up to 2000 with the pedal all the way down.
Cleaned the fpr screen? Checked fuel pressure? Maybe make sure the tin nut on the ipr is tight.
For screen is 100% clean, fuel pressure is 50 psi idling. I will have to check the nut.
You also have a intermittent CPS code 0344. So you may want to change out the CPS also. They are cheap about $30.00 at Ford and you should carry a extra one as a just in case. There was also a recall on them for the 97 model year up so you may want to check with a dealer to see if yours was replaced if you don't know.
I was also told excessive cranking could throw that CP's code. Is that true?

Yes
So I am trying to get a small or big list on what to do or get. All I know so far is to get the cps, and check the IPR tin nut. Is there anything else??
For right now that is about it. After you change out the CPS you might try clearing the codes and run the truck for a while to see how it is doing. Then if you still have a problem then reread the codes.

On replacing the CPS use a 6pt 10mm socket so that you don't round off the head. The bolt tends to be very tight at times.
Ok will do. And will report if codes come back. Thanks.
I put the cps in and still no power... It couldn't even climb up my tiny less than normal driveway with the throttle wide open.... I need help asap.
