I bought this 97 f-250 from a customer of mine that wasn't using it anymore. I paid them 1000$ for it. I got halfway home and the transmission just quit. I had nothing. I knew from experience that since there was absolutely nothing no forward or reverse that it was more than likely the torque converter. i yanked the transmission out and replaced it. It now works great.
The truck has 370,000mi on it. I have all records since new and all the records with my company of whats been changed. Im pretty sure it has a new shortblock and new injectors, trans was done in 2009 but i don't know why the torque converter took a crap. The fluid looked good and didn't smell burnt.

Ah well im not concerned.

So heres the plan.

Im swapping in a 94 dana 60 front axle with bronco rear springs on reversed shackles. Inside this axle is chromoly outer stubs and a eaton E-Locker on 4.10 gears.

12,000lb winch going in the front behind the bumper

On board air (viair 350c 100% duty cycle) 5 gal air tank

shortening frame/ wheelbase by about 30" Still in the air about how much but it will be done soon

37"s on military double beadlocks

and alot more.

Alot of the parts will be coming from my old full size bronco that i had a idi turbo in.

Just for some clarification this truck will be wheeled hard. Here are some pics of the bronco before i decided to build this thing.
same springs are going in the truck

I might do a similar winch mount just not sure yet

I have a few hundred from wheeling excursions of the bronco but the plan is to make the truck just as good and better in the future

Thanks. The reason the bronco is done is I took a hard hit in it and blew the windshield out. Something somewhere was tweaked as there was a 2" gap on the passenger side between the window and the frame and when I pulled the trim off the windshield fell forward. Before that the original plan was to put the psd in it but i kinda wanted a separate bed and cab again. I have plans for a bronco II Mercedes powered in the future though.

For how tall i had it up the big stands i had weren't steady enough. the rims are welded together. You ever been to a junkyard?

Not anywhere near done yet. Still modifying a superduty panhard frame side bracket.
I'll take a few pics tomorrow of the setup. I have a set of mx6 reservoir shocks for the front and STD mx6 for the rear.

Well the sd panhard bar wont clear the diff housing no matter what i do. Im building a mount pics of that tomorrow.
This is the front spring hanger setup. Its 4'' box 1/4'' everywhere. This is all because im running my springs neutral. They are almost flat. It sat the same way in the bronco and it was awesome flex for leaf springs. I will eventually go to a 4 link and coilover on the front but this will work just fine for now.

Haven't taken it off yet lol. I actually need it tomorrow so I can get a few sticks of tubing and some wood for my trailer. Then Ill take it off. Plus once I shorten the frame the bed will be smaller than a short bed.

Well next is make my panhard bar then a 3" downpipe to a single 5" that I haven't decided if I want to use my old stacks yet or not. Then shackle flip in the rear. Then pull the bed and measure how much I'm going to shorten it. Then measure again and cut the thing in half and make a custom short bed for it. I have a friend that is hopefully going to hook it up with some true army green paint and some black too. So I can get rid of this bent hood.

Once all of that is done I'm thinking a h2e or a d66 turbo fed by some stage 2s and some sorta oil system either dual hpop or a single big oil. I may sell my Mercedes to fund these.
