Hello and heres to some suggestions............I have been working on a '94 DIT 7.3. Long story short is someone decided to fix the leaking oil pan nut by cutting a hole in the side of the oil pan and welding the hole back up. Yes with a wire feed. Needless to say the truck never made it another 100 miles, welding rod went through the timing cover, ruined the pump, housing, oil adapter and oil cooler. the engine has been removed, reconditioned, heads machined, new timing cover, oil pump, oil filter housing, oil cooler, and reinstalled. Engine started, had miss, fixed wiring harness at valve cover. The truck had new valve cover gaskets installed, harness connectors replaced, ICP sensor installed, CMP sensor installed, and had injector o-rings replaced prior to welding job. HPOP was also installed prior to welding job due to fitting leak that stripped out. It came with IPR valve in it. The symptom I now have is the engine does crank for a while before starting but starts cold. ICP pressure reads 280psi while cranking, maintains 550psi while at idle. Engine runs for roughly 30 minutes and will die. While watching ICP pressure it doesn't fall off then die, the engine dies and ICP goes with it. The truck will restart after sitting for roughly 4 hours and begin the symptom again. Thinking I had something go through the IPR valve I replaced it with a new one and regulator. same symptom. I checked reference voltage and have 5 volts at EBP and ICP sensor, left bank of injectors both have 4.48 volts and right bank connectors only have 1.3 volts. Thinking I had a faulty IDM (it had been opened before and re-silicon back together) I ohmed wires through the system and found no opens or shorts. Replaced IDM, truck ran great, however same 30-40 minute run time. Any ideas? I am finally stumped. Oh and one last thing, I tried disconnecting the right bank injectors and the truck will run on just the left bank. Also running a buzz test passes all 8 injectors, yet no smoke while cranking. ICP goes up to 2450psi while cranking.
