Just called my brother and it's been freezing around my house he said it took about 8 seconds to crank the truck cranks it about a second when hot is this fine

hard to say without numbers, i.e ficm voltage, icp, battery voltage, etc seems a little long to me. what was ambient temp? was truck plugged in?

Batteries would be the first thing I would check.

5 seconds on some cases is considered ok, but not 8

He said it went all the way cold again and cranked it fime no prob said it took about 4 or 5 seconds I'm gonna tell him to make sure to plug the block heater in tonight

I get sluggish starts when my oil change is due usually between 6500-7500 miles
