Bought a 96 f250 powerstroke 5 speed 4x4 wrecked wanting to swap everything into my 96 crew cab 2wd gasser will the engine harnes plug and play on my truck both have square plug and what other issues might I run into. The wrecked one was single cab

You'll need to swap everything from the radiator to the throttle pedal, including all the wiring gauges and electronics

I'll bet you'll need to swap the dash harness as well. I would get a copy of the 1996 Electrical and Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual (EVTM) as that will help you immensely. Cheers!

I swapped a 7.3 Powerstroke from an ambulance into a 1997 351w 250. I never touched the dash wiring. I don’t remember much wiring issues but that’s also something I enjoy doing.

Yes, the connectors are the same shape. No, don't plug them together. A gasser dash (main) harness section does not have the wires or connectors for the PSTD APP/IVS or BP, so it's not possible that it could have been swapped that way.
