Yeah when I started my rebuild I had started seeing some oil in coolant and when I pulled my cooler there was a piece out of the one of the orings.

No but it takes a bit of work to drain the coolant, oil , remove the cooler, inspect and replace the o-rings/gaskets, reassemble and flush. I just did mine and went ahead and replaced the water pump while I had the coolant drained. I got my cooler and parts here: DieselOrings

do NOT use Dorman gaskets or rings here get the good stuff from DieselOrings, Riff Raff, Ford, Alliant, somebody just don't use Dorman

Good time to change thermostat and waterpump, also fan clutch if needed = $$$$ but very worth while upgrades
I also took the opportunity to change out my block heater while I had the cooler apart
Very straight forward job on the 7.3 = Hooray!

Don't forget to pull the block drain plugs when you do the flush. One is right there near the rear of the oil cooler, the other is on the passenger side just above the starter. If you can't or don't remove them when you drain the coolant, it will seem like you never get all the oil flushed out of the system.......and I agree, never buy the Dorman (Dormant) stuff. There's very little difference in price between them and the original Ford parts, it's just not worth the risk most of the time......
