Curious if it was possible to put a 6.4 setup on a 6.0? I could get a tow setup for a good price from a buddy but nobody around here knows too much about turbos :confused::confused: turbos are a new world for me

yes...for the money you spend, you could get something tried and true like a 64 or 66mm single.

64/72 over s480/88 compounds. You can find both chargers used for under 1k, and you wouldn't have to have a stand alone vgt controller or have the hassle of the 6.4 uppipes.

I'm no 6.0 expert, so what kind of back pressure issues would you have on a 6.0 with a compound setup. The 6.4's are horrible for it so its just a simple question for the 6.0

I said each turbo can be bought under 1K. 1,000+1,000= 2,000 or less. I know I can have a s362-366 brand new for under 999., and I see s480's for sale all day for 600-900. The piping is the cheapest thing IF you can do it yourself. the Oil drain/feeds would be less than 100-150 bucks as well..flanges, mounting the s480, I think it could be done under 3,500, but of course a pre made kit or a shop would charge you 7K+. Excessive backpressure on 6.4 twins is primarily caused by a vgt high pressure charger and would be considerably less with a non vgt high pressure on a 6.0, say a s364/72 with a .76 t3 divided (diverter optional) with a s480/88 1.32 t6 or 1.10 t4, the t6 are alot more common and alot cheaper.. I want to see more home brew twin setups...

Sorry donzi, wasn't trying to question you, was just inquiring as to what you meant. I wish I could run a California street legal twin setup. I'm not interested to swapping out every two years. What turbos are out there that can pass as a stock looking turbo? Sounds like a good search.
