can you run a 6.4 torque converter in a 6.0 trans if you swap the fly wheel and converter. i know 6.0 is 6 bolt and 6.4 is 8 bolt just trying to figure it out and get a correct answer come say you can and come say you cant. thanks

You need the flywheel and convertor to make it work.

Is the converter from a 6.4 that much better than the 6.0 converter?

I think people look at the HP ratings on the newer truck and think it's better.

Ahh yea I guess I can see how that would make ppl think its better, they are both 5r right? 6.0 trannys are capable of just as much hp as long as its tuned right. I wouldn't see how swapping them would be any performance gain, I'm no tranny expert tho

The only reason i was askin is i have a built 6.4 suncoast convertor and its sittin around my shop and my trans is goin out of my truck and i have another one to go in. Im not lookin for any horse power gain just want to use it up so its not sittin around

I thought the internals of the later 5R's were stronger...
Andy Warren says they supposedly are also.
