I have a 2004 F350 with a 6.0 and I started hearing a hissing noise coming from the bottom of the turbo. I thought it was the Y-pipe, so I replaced the Y-pipe and replaced the turbo also replaced the pipe connecting to the EGR cooler and it still makes a hissing noise. When I disconnect the VGT solenoid on the turbo the hissing noise stops please help.

Here is a link to my video with the hissing sound.

The vgt unplugged probably opens up the veins and drops back pressure so it doesn't leak. You probably will just have to feel around for an extra exhaust leak on a cold engine on the manifold to turbo. The v band clamp right on the turbo (right behind and to the left) is very tough to get to seal.

thank you but before I changed everything it started hissing noise that would make me believe it was a leak but I can’t seem to find it i’ve tried putting air to the front of the turbo and there’s no leaks I wonder if I can use the same process to exhaust side to find the leak

Just run the engine cold and feel around with your hands
