6.0 EOT and ECT problems

Check your temps after a 10 hour cold soak with the engine not running. That should give enough time for everything to cool down to the same temp as the air. If the EOT and ECT aren't really darn close to each other, you've got a sending unit problem. If, however, they are the same, and you then get EOT at 15 degrees higher than your ECT (once your engine is fully up to temp and you have run at least 20 minutes at 55-60 MPH) then you have a clogged oil cooler. You can try unclogging it via a backflush, but very few have had good luck. I was one of the lucky few, but I also spent about eight hours total on it. lol

And, yes, if you're worried about the coolant levels, pressure test it. Just make sure you get up to operating temp and then SLOWLY vent the cooling system while it's running. Then, after that, watch your pressure. Mine rose quite slowly, even with a WOT run, because I was just developing the HG leak, but it did eventually get up to 16PSI. Guess I'm just saying don't necessarily expect to see it spike to 16 right from the start. May take a few. Now let's hope you don't have any movement on that gauge at all! lol
