Hey everybody,

I'm having some issues that I'm not too sure about. I have a 2003 F350 4x4 with the 6.0. I have been monitoring my ScanGuageII and my fuel economy has dropped almost half within the last 2 wks. I'm gonna change my fuel filters out tomorrow and install the newer fuel pressure spring and put the 6.4 fuel rail bolts in. I know that some of this is not going to increase my mpg's, but it is something that I have been wanting to do. I checked my air filter, front hubs to make sure they are not locked, and tire pressure. Nothing is out of the ordinary. Just wondering if anybody else has any suggestions? Oh i'm averaging about 7.6 mpg's and I was getting 13 mpg's around town.

Well I'm glad to see all the replies! Anyway I changed everything that I said and the ole Autoscan II is still reading about the same MPG's. Anyway I did notice that my oil level was way low. Down about 3 to 4 qts. I just changed the oil about 2500 miles ago, but this has never happened before. No evidence of leaks on the outside of the engine. I did have some oil pooling on the inside of the intercooler tube boots. On the intake side and the turbo side. Well if anyone has any suggestions leave some feedback. I would greatly appreciate it.

Check your brakes. You might have one or more dragging.

Reboot the ECM

If it were low oil it would really ratty if at all.

Not the brakes I just changed all four rotors and pads recently. And I just recently replaced the batteries, but i guess I could try and reboot the ecm again. And just for more information the FICM voltage is 48.7vdc with no drop.

Just a thought following Dave's brake thoughts...

Did you remove fluid from the reservoir to account for the extra thickness of the new pads?

Yep i removed fluid to account for the new brake pads. As for the exhaust leak i have looked all around the y-pipe as best as I can. I don't see any soot or evidence of a leak, but I could be missing something. The only odd thing that I have noticed is when I was checking the FICM voltage it sounded as though air was escaping from the fuel filter up in the engine compartment. It continued to hiss until the fuel pump shutoff. Never noticed this before, but then again I've never been in the engine compartment during the cycle either. So i don't know if this is normal or not. Anybody know?
