Just installed a rebuilt 4r100 w shift kit into 97 OBS.
I am using Compushift tranny controller in the 4R100 mode.
I did not change anything internal.
What is typical shift sequence?
I have the following, 1-2-3-TCC on- 4 TCC on.
1,I cannot feel TTC lock up (screen verifies it coming on). Then it stays on through out 3-4 shift. (I would think it goes off then shifts?)
2, When in 4th (OD)(TCC locked) I push down on pedal rpms go from 2100 to 2500 with a gradual increase to speed. I romp on it and it goes but not relative to rpm. Is this normal? Worried about towing this way.

After talking with Compushift I changed the TCC type from PWM to non PWM. I now feel the TCC lock up more than shift points. It also drops it by 300rpm. Works like it should just a little harsh now.
Turns out 2001 4r100 may or may not have PWM setup.

All 2001 4R100 had a PWM lockup from the factory. That doesn't mean someone couldn't have changed the solenoid body to a non-PWM one.

Ok, so the rebuilder installed a non pwm. Why would they do this, as opposed to factory setup?

You'd have to ask them. I don't know.
