I've got a 2000 350 V10 4x4 that the trans went out of and has sat for a few months that I'm now seeking to simply put a trans in and sell. My question is will any 4r100 4x4 work behind the V10 or does it have to be a V10 trans? Also I've seen a distinction on the years 99-00 and 01-03 and I'm wondering if there's any truth to this, I was always under the impression that the 4r100's for the 2v motors were the same V8s and 10s. Someone educate me please.

The V8 4R100 has less clutch plates than the V10 trans. A V8 trans behind a V10 will work, but only for a very short time.

Early '99 transmissions were different than late '99 through the end of the 4R100 in 2004.
