4739 vs 4739-1 tranny cooler? Cold weather tranny temps?

I am getting a new tranny and am planning on getting a tru-cool 4739 or 4739-1 or a 6.0 cooler(I found the Dorman cheap). If using the Tru-cool I was planning on using SD lines and By Pass Tube 2C3Z-7H322-BA. My question is about the lack of thermal bypass. I live in SC and the winters do not get below zero but we can get into the teens where I live. When it is cold will I harm anything running the tranny with the 4739-1 or 6.0 cooler cooling at full blast?

My trans runs at 120-140 in the winter, grill cover closed or open. I also haven't added a load to it yet.
What cooler are you using?
What cooler are you using?
An older double Pass copper cooler with aluminum fins and another odd one the po had on it.

I'm going to be changing then out when I get my intercooler installed so I can put one in the size of my radiator for a cleaner install and I tend to tow heaheawhen I do tow. My double pass is 16x16 and the other is 14x10.
I wouldn't use a bypass temp cooler, run the lines into the Rad then to the cooler and back to the trans.
I'd do:

SD trans lines

Line F81Z-7A031CE

Line F81Z-7A030CA

By Pass Tube 2C3Z-7H322-BA

LPD47391 Tru-Cool Max Long mounted behind the front bumper
What's wrong with factory cooling, my temps never go over 200 even towing a 28ft 5th wheel?
Well 160* -170* is better .......
My trans guy said not to use the bypass tube. If the trans cooler got clogged for some reason, the trans already had a catastrophic failure and the bypass tube is going to do nothing.

The SD lines are 3/8 while the OBS ones are 5/16. To be able to install the SD lines, you need different fittings.

I use no bypass tube, a 6.0 trans cooler, transcooler in rad and SD cooler lines. Towing almost 23k in 60* weather, the trans temp was in the 120*-140* range.

I put the 4739 on my trans in late summer and never saw temps any higher than 160 degrees. Shortly after that I put the Dieselsite trans filter on it and it never went over 150 degrees. With temps in the 30 degree range the trans doesn't go over 120 degrees. We had a week with temps in the teens and the trans would be barely over 100 degrees. I bought the 4739-1 with the bypass, just to be on the safe side. Probably not going to the bypass.
With outside air temps being in the teens and my trans temps not going much more than 100 degrees. I'm glad I have the bypass on hand. It gets a bit colder than that here. No issues yet, other than it being a E4od:lookaround:
I have mine mounted the typical way behind the bumper. I have simple cover that snaps over the cover inside the bumper if I needed during very cold weather
I am am going to do this exactly. Thanks.

No need for the cold weather bypass system on the trans cooler?
I just follow Brian at BTS, update to a SD bypass and lines.
Did not know he switched to that route.
