Why 3.08? And which axle?

I just looked on Randy ring and pinion and the smallest ratio is 3.55 which is stock.

I used Randy's to source a 3.08 R&P set but that was back in 2003. It was made by Yukon. It has worked well for all these years and at least 275,000 miles.

They never were availble for front axles. My truck uses the Sterling 10.25 axle.

Maybe Randy can get these custom made, I suspect Yukon still has the tooling but expect them to be anything but cheap. I haven't seen them on Randy's website since 2007.

If you can find them they will DEFINITELY improve your MPG but will be tough on a (non-Allison) automatic. If you have a handshaker, no problem.

A Gear Vendor also works very well but you may have to get improved electrical connections.
