Around 525 for stock forged. There are a lot of variables as to how long something will last. Are you gonna race it? Pull it? Dyno queen, or drive it to the 7-11 or haul toys with it? You want a dyno queen you can make 550-600 on PMRs and it'd probably live a long time. Try pulling with it and you'd have parts fly'n on the track by 50 feet.

PMR = Powered Metal Rod. They are made from a powered materail and forged into the finial shape. The "forged" rods are forged from billets.

this is the type of guy who bets that Mike Tyson will get K.O. in one minute on the first round and win he had duel HPOP,120 inj.,TS 140 tune, 125 shot, GPT38R holden 40psi plus and exhaust, intake, studs, ring gaskets,FASS fueler

and don't worry it blew up bent the rods, ovaled the cylinder bores, and blew the heads straight off the block raising the hood up about 2-3 inches that was while street racing a mustang he decided to run the NOS straight no jet

Might be one of those,
if I make this much power now & add this & this &.......I should have roughly.......
I'm not saying it isn't true, the big question is was that 500hp on fuel only or was that the number with NOS? Just considering the carnage that resulted, I'd say he was pushing some ponys.

I bet that truck was a smokey pig for that year and a half too. Whose injectors was he running? Who tuned the TS Chip? My guess is the tuning was so far out of wack from what he was running that he never had enough atomization or air to do a whole lot of anything, he just smoked a lot and put on a good show. Once he pulled the nozzle out of the nitrous he had the required air to make some power.

It's not hard to make 500hp, but the parts all gotta work together. And lets run the numbers. A 120hp injector may net you 120hp with all the supporting mods. . .which it sounds like he had. Even if he had a truck that was 275 flywheel from the factory, you're talking 200-230 at the wheels. Add the proper supporting mods and the 120hp injectors and you're roughly 350hp at the tires. Which is equivilent to a set of stage I or II injectors and sounds about right, especially w/the possibility of his generic tuning. Nitrous doesn't make HP in these trucks, they add air to help burn the fuel like in a gasser application, but unlike a gasser, diesels aren't controlled by the need to run a certain Air Fuel Ratio. . .diesels run lean nearly 100% of the time, a diesel doesn't run stoichiometrically until it's smokin like a freight train. This is underburnt fuel and could make more power if you add more air. .. bigger charger. . .or Nitrous. So a 100shot of nitrous in a diesel may or may not net 100hp. If you already got the air, it won't do a whole lot (except maybe drop your egt's a bit), if it's smokey, it will help things out.

Blew the heads off? I'm not seeing this, maybe blew an intercooler boot. . .those can make a mess of things under the hood, especially when running 40psi. I knocked a hole in my heater box when my cold side came loose at 20ish psi. Did he manage to get some pictures to document his stupidity?

By the way, stock trannies, clutches will not like 500hp and more than likely will start to slip long before the engine is able to hit anything close to that HP.

Not knocking you. . .just giving some ammo to you against this guy. World is full of enertainment like this. :pointlaugh: Is all you can do. . .as they continue to destroy things.

275hp was the factory rating for manual transmission trucks - 01 thru 03.
con rods are the same.
how do you know he pushed over 500hp on factory rods? dyno sheet, etc?
Nope... You have a 1999 with 235HP. Only the 2001-2003 7.3's with the 6 speed trans are rated for 275.

Ok what's the deal?
My early '99 auto trans truck, going by the valve cover decal, is rated at 250HP. A buddy of mine has an '02 6 speed that is rated at 235HP.
