The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor has been spied in what appears to be its production ready form.

The American automaker previewed the next-generation off-road pickup at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show earlier this year and now Ford is out testing it on public roads. One of the major differences that can be seen is the lack of giant Ford lettering on the rear of the pickup that appeared in Detroit.

The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor will be powered by a special version of the automaker’s 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that will make around 450 horsepower, replacing the 6.2-liter V8 found in its predecessor.

The new Raptor will also be one of the first vehicles to come equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission which is being developed together by Ford and GM. Expect the transmission to find its way into other Ford pickup trucks in the future.

With the Ford F-150 Raptor, expect off-road modifications including Fox Racing shocks and meaty off-road tires. There is also going to be a terrain management system to help the Raptor navigate tough conditions.

The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor should be heading to dealerships by summer 2016.
