Its leaking coolant down the traction bar and front drive shaft. I checked the egr cooler and it does not look like it is coming from there i could be wrong though but its leaking above it. I changed the lower radiator hose on it a few weeks ago because that was leaking to any ideas?

It's the upper rad hose, exact same thing was on mine, exact same location.

Good luck

I did the upper and lower radiator hoses and stopped the leak for a while.

In the last couple of weeks, I have a new leak! It is leaking at another push lock connection. This one connects to the front of the degas bottle. I picked up a new hose, and it stopped leaking for a day.

Leak is back, right where the old hose was leaking! If I had the old hose still, I would march right to NAPA and get a hose with hose clamps! I'm fed up with coolant dripping from a $35,000 truck!!!! It is embarrassing!

Hey bud there is an entire TSB for these leaks. First off, did you purchase the updated factory hoses with the dual orings? The upper and lower off of the thermostat housing and the front cover have dual oring design, also you MUST replace the Thermostats with the updated style and usually a new venturi Tee and degas bottle. THIS PRETTY MUCH FIXES THOSE DARN LEAKS FOR GOOD!!! Now, even though the parts are expensive from the dealer they have put A LOT of money into not having to pay warranty repairs so I would purchase those parts and install them before the radiator, EGR cooler and possibly the head gaskets go out. Home - PowerFlo Diesel, in McKinney does not charge for checkout, give them a call. Hope this helps man.

I just bought my truck for towing my camper and boat from a guy last week. Its an 08' with 107,000k miles. I just noticed my degas bottle an inch below the min. Cold fill line. I added some distilled water back and driving it tomorrow to see if it drops again before doing pressure test. I'm hoping I'm not about to have an headache

If you have a leak, don't just try and patch it, get all the new updated hoses and change the stats and if your truck is running right it will be fixed. Don't worry about a headache, it isn't too bad

08 with 170k, I've had it for about a month and all has been great. Took it for a quick 1/4 mile test the other day (single pass) and when I got back I had coolant down the drivers side. It appeared to be coming from around the degas bottle, but I couldn't tell for sure. How do I know if I have the newer or older hose design and what are the common leaks? I've see a few of the places, but I want to make sure I inspect/repair any of them that might give me problems as I plan to tow a camper this summer with it.

New style hoses have white plastic ends, old ones were black

Added a little distilled water to fill my degas bottle back to the top cold line, it was about 1/2" below the lower cold line. Next day checked it and it was maybe 1/2" above the top cold fill line and has held there since my last post. Weirder things have happened.... But at least I know all is good, Thankfully!
