Is there any white residue around your degas bottle? Usually these trucks overheat when they get a little low on coolant. You could also have a blown EGR, causing the coolant to be lost out the exhaust...

The white residue is your coolant loss, the coolant is venting out the cap, welcome to the world of "puking" 6.0's! Could be a bad degas cap, blown/clogged EGR cooler, clogged oil cooler, or headgaskets.

if you have a blown EGR, like as said above, it will go out of the exhaust. if it is, your exhaust will have a sweet smell to it and the smoke will be a little different in color as it burns the coolant thru and out the exhaust
