Hello, I have a 2001 F350 SD 7.3 4wd and the truck is 100% stock. This all started with low power, I had the dealership scan the truck it came back with low boost. It turns out it was a bad/intermittent map sensor(replaced shortly before having this issue for low power thinking it was the prob) not letting the truck get enough fuel to build boost, but one of the boots also leaked but not horrible, fixed that. The truck would have no power until around 2200 RPM then boost hit hard.
Brought that map sensor back to the dealer and got another one, about a week later the truck is doing the same thing only not intermittent. I unplugged the senor and the truck has been driving fine without power issues. Did ford make a bad batch of senors? Or could something else cause them to go bad, to much voltage to it?
Any ideas appreciated.
