Hey, ya'll. so my plan is to build a 7.3l powerstroke to 800+ hp. what kind of supporting mods should I get? does anyone have suggestions for injectors and compound turbos?

Thanks, Kyler

Your first post. I bet you didn’t even search. Your googlfu is lacking. You should have searched first.

Visit swamps and give them 15-20k for their built engine.

DIY? Tear motor down, machine it, rods, girdle, heads, arp everything. Sticks. Tuning.

Don’t forget a built transmission. 10k fully built, delivered, installed.

Edit: For stupid power - don’t go with a 7.3. Go with Cummins or stick a dt-360 in your sd. Again, you should searches. Your question is loaded to the gills.

Cheers and welcome

You want that much go with a 6.4. You can kiss reliability goodbye, cause its a 6.4 though. Although, don't expect to get a ton of trouble-free miles out of an 800hp anything.

Agrees what we have and what he wants is totally different- I have over 400+ and it’s fun to drive I admit! He wants stupid hp so let the newbie dream? I have 500hp and 1200tq with my dt-360 f350 :) if you want to know what’s fun - that’s fun!

Sorry bro, i've been searching, since the age of 13-. I've been studying for the best. I'm going for the best, is why I ask. I was honestly just wondering if anybody on this forum has ever built a 7.3 and what they kinda think is the best. Not only that but Dodge is crap. Maybe it's just an opinion but I don't care for Dodge whatsoever. Also, you might think a 7.3l with 800+ hp is a stupid build, but some people still don't realize the potential in them old "dinosaurs".

Well I tell ya what... if you’ve been searching for that long, you have failed...

If you did search, you would know that the 7.3 has many restrictions and takes a lot of money to overcome.

Why would you hate on dodge? Is it b/c of brand loyalty? If that was the reason then it’s not a very good one but sure, your opinion is your opinion. Just an FYI, 5.9cummins takes half as much to make twice hp as the 7.3. The fuel system is far superior and the straight 6 with the longer stroke produces more low end torque.

Everything takes money and you can make this pos 7.3 a beast and that’s your option and your right to do so. All the sob on this forum know the potential of the 7.3 and also the short comings of it as well. It can be done but again, apparently you didn’t search enough. You need to go back and read my first reply if you want power from a 7.3

Its hard to beat the torque of an inline 6. Lest complicated and less moving parts to break... Do a cummins swap if you're going for insane power.
Swapping a CAT C7 would be pretty cool too....

Depends on your budget... If there is a will, there is a way. Its just the logistics and funding behind it...

Well 800+ is very expensive. As for the block that will require a partial filled block, Bedplate, billet rods, and other reinforced engine work. Cheapest way would to buy Swamps Competition long block. 350 to 400cc injectors with 400% nozzles. How are you planning to use the power will depend in how you need to build it. If money is not an issue have Hypermax build you an engine with their aftermarket block. Block alone is 9K$. North of 800 has been done time and time again.

Are you drag racing or sled pulling....
Interested to see what the rest of the drive train looks like besides the motor...
Building a 7.3L 291% over stock power output should be one hell of a ride...
