Howdy, new to the forum a have a buddy with a driver side manifold leaking as well as the up pipe gasket to the manifold just looking for some pointers, tips, and hopefully pictures. I’ve done manifolds on several other vehicles, have yet to do one on these obs trucks. Looks like I’ll need to remove the wheel and inner fender to get at it. I’ve read most people cut the heads off the bolts pull the manifold and back the studs out with vice grips or a stud removal tool, is this the best way? or will it require the nut and welder trick any help will much be appreciated!

From the factory, they did not have gaskets at the manifold-to-head joints. Gaskets are available though. I've never had to do them on my truck, so I'm no help on the procedure! Cheers!

. That’s what I’m doing used a cut off wheel on the heads of the bolts gonna hit em with pb and map torch and hopefully twist em out with vice grips or a stud extractor can I in bolt and remove the fender liner easily or is all that junk like fuse block and #### attached to it?

This is what i did on my 96 replacing rusted out driver side manifold.

Bolts were rusted to manifold and were not moving.

I took an air chisel to the manifold and cracked it into pieces and it will brake away from bolts.
Then vice grips took bolts out of head fairly easy
