After about a year of acquiring parts and various other things we have made a start on a new project. This is my brothers truck the he bought a few years ago from our grandpa. The truck came with a 272 Y block and a mystery five speed. Let it be said the old Y block didn't have the power or reliability we wanted. So we decided to stick a 7.3 from an 1988 into the old truck. Here are a few pictures of what we've done so far.

Here the truck is in stock form hauling a load of lodge pole pine

This is another 56 we got for free to use for parts. This is a f-600 so we decided to use this trucks frame and running gear.

The 56 frame all striped of the stuff we didn't need or want.

Boxing the frame to support the 88 engine cross member

Measuring the frame for locating the cross member.

Cross member tacked in place

Engine, Transmission, and Brownie in for test fit and placement.

F-600 frame going in

The cab sitting on the f-600 frame. The fire wall clears the bellhousing by about 1"

Test fitting the front clip. We had to trim the inner fenders a bit but it fits on pretty good. That's all I have for now we should make good progress over the next few days and weeks.
