A buddy of mine hooked me up with an Equus temp gauge for $10. Figured it was good enough of a deal not to pass up.

Should I use it for water temp or EOT? it goes to 280*. I'm not sure how hot these things run...

The only thing im stuck on is where the hell do I instal it? It's got a probe on the end of it looks similair to an egt probe.

Sorry for the ignorance, I'm just havin a brain fart this mornin.

Is it electric? I think the mechanical gauge probes are too large to use for EOT. I have mine in place of my regular water temp gauge, since it quit working long ago.

I'm not sure how to tell if it's elec or mech?

How can I tell?

If mechanical then it will be a tube between the gauge and the probe, if electric then it will be wires.
