'06 Powerstroke or '06 Duramax or other?

for the the family business we are looking for a new pickup
used mostly to just pull a 16 foot cargo trailer with the paint sprayers for striping up and down the road
having a really hard time taking ourselves into trying a 6 liter
anyone around here been around both a '06 6 liter Auto and a '06 Duramax Auto(6spd)?
how do they compare?
what do you suggest to look out for?

thanks

JUMP! that is a great deal to find one with low miles and I would rather have the 7.3 for reliability reasons. (dont flame me jmo)

I would take a 38K 7.3 rather than a brand new 6.0. :ford:
Seats are easy to change

well here is the kicker
it has a marked title

was orinally a shortie that was rolled but the guy builds nothin but super dutys and has a lwb frame to set it in
he wants to put the black sunroof cab on but he also has a charcoal lariat cab (i dont think he will part with the white King Ranch Cab till he finds a 6liter)
and i could have my choice or srw or drw
i dont have to jump right away because he is away out
price would be around the lower $20K's
has anyone ever dealt with a marked title vehicle before? is it something to stay away from?
whatever we get next we plan on keeping for a long time
what do you guys think?
(i just dont know anything about these marked title vehicles)

That is all a thing that is left up to you. Do you want a salvage titled vehicle or does it really matter ask your local dept. of public safety. Ask around I would do it as long as the guy puts it back together right no corner cutting or shoddy work.

I would have an experienced professional body man check it out and give his opinion. Pay for someone to inspect it if you have to.

Like aljay said, way too many ways to cut corners. Building them back right takes time and money.

he just buys/builds them on the side
SuperDuty's and Ws6 Trans Am's(hes got like 3 personally)
he's been doin it for quite a few years
so actually took his '00 to denver last year and he seems to take pride in all his work from wiring to paint
hope its the right thing to do!

But if you go to sell it, buyers might not like that marked title. It will do what you want now with work and all, but might be problematic for a future sale. I'd never own a 6.0 from family experiance so I'd go with the Duramax. Good luck on your choice, keep us posted.
