This is an honest question and not meant to piss anyone off or start a war.

I can not stand the front end on the 08 and up superdutys. Call me old school but head lights go on top and the grill doesn't have to look like a Tonka truck. That being said I do feel that the 6.7 is a great engine, the interior looks great and I really want A/C seats and wouldn't mind the quieter ride. So....has anyone put an '05 clip on the front of a newer truck? Im guessing it will be another 5 years or so before we get a redesign and may not be able to wait that long.

Right now I think that the Dodge has the best looking front end but unfortunately the rest of the truck is....well...a Dodge.

I think redesign is coming in 2015 but odds are if you don't like this body style then you won't like that one. I don't see why this couldn't be done. If the new clips bolt on older trucks I could see it happen.

I know lots of guys that would trade front ends with you, it does require some work. Core support intercooler radiator fans are all dif.

not a bad idea. buy a new truck and get someone to do the swap for me that has an 05-07. they get the new parts I get a good looking truck.

Also just looked at the 2015s and they look just about the same as the '14. Not a fan.

to do it right there would be a good bit of fab and paint work im assuming. a good shop would be at least 2k on labor if I had to guess.

To be realistic you can sell the front clip for about 5k

You can get a 05/07 clip for less then 2k

to get a clip (fenders and hood), have it paint matched to the new truck, new headlights, new bumper, new grill, have all the mounts fabbed up then paint matched, plus all the mechanical work to get things plumbed and working would be a solid 2-3k just in labor plus parts.

now if an '05 donor were willing to provide parts and pay labor in exchange, it would be a fairly even trade I believe. The reason I call out new for certain parts is that no matter how well you cleaned them up they would show their age and not look right on a new truck.

looks clean, I can almost live th the grill but the headlights are just a deal breaker for me. What did that cost the guy. good work isn't cheap and that looks like OEM fit and finish, kudos.

big, don't have one yet just thinking out loud.

if I did you would be willing to foot the bill for all the new parts listed above and the labor?

i would try and custom the front end to where you like it instead of spending an ass load of cash and time to make it look like an older truck, sure its what you want but im sure you can make the front end look good for less time and effort as far as what you like
