I have an 03 f350 6.0 with 196k miles. Bought it 6 weeks ago. Ran great until last week. Previous owner maintained it great and had a bunch of work done to it. Anyhow to my issue. I was driving it the other day and it seemed like it was losing power at wot. I checked my hpop pressure and it would get to 1600 to 1800 then drop down to like 700 to 850 psi and IPR% would jump to around 89%. I did some research and talked to a local shop and they told me to check out the icp sensor. Well I checked the connection and there was oil in the plug. So as of reading on the internet and from talking to the local diesel shop they said to unplug the icp and see if that changed anything. Well it gave me hpop pressure of 875 at idle. So I decided to drive it and see if it would make a difference. The hpop pressure was good cruising and at wot it was at 3300 ish. The ipr% was reading normal values. The truck ran terrible it seemed like it was running really rich and wouldn't pull more than 10 pounds of boost but would run about 6 pounds of boost cruising. I decided to plug the icp in and drive to the ford dealer today to buy an icp. After I changed the icp I started the truck and went for a drive and couldn't get anymore than 650psi out of my hpop and the ipr % was 87. I went about a quarter of a mile and the truck died and won't start hpop won't go above 350 to 400... I might have to get it towed into the dealership but looking for suggestions.

I just had similar issues with my 04. Took it to a shop and he described a "T" fitting going into the HPOP might have broke causing a huge drop in pressure or might even be a torn gasket. For mine it turned out to be the bearing on the backside of the HPOP blew out and was laying on the motor. From reading your post I would be more likely to say you have a torn rubber seal.

I can't get the truck into my garage and its too cold outside to do much work on it so I am going to take it to the dealership and let them figure it out. And I don't really have the capabilities or knowledge to do the testing it needs. Thanks for your suggestions and info.

get the pig tail from International... its the same part and way cheaper... also make sure to make sure you cut the old one off and be sure there is no more oil in it, when I did mine the oil was up in the harness like 6 or 8 inches. Just squeeze it and you will see oil come out of it, oh and make sure you rewire it the same way it came off..... I learned that lesson as well.

I had my truck towed to a diesel shop and they just called me and said there was debris in my ipr so now they are checking the lpop to see where the debris is coming from. The guy said if its not an issue with the lpop then they would have to check the sump in the oil pan. Hopefully they don't have to pull my intake and check the hpop side of things.
