What shock absorber should I use ?

I have a 97 F-250 HD 4wd extended cad, 8' bed. 7.3 diesel

I don't do offroading, But I do pull a 10,000 lbs travel trailer. With my load equalizer hitch, I don't need air-shocks in the rear. Truck has about 145,000 miles. I only drive about 5,000 miles per year.

I just think I might get a little better ride with new shocks, if that is possible with these trucks.

I don't mean to start a war about shocks, I just haven't had experience with shocks on these trucks.

Good brands?
Brands to avoid?
I had a bad result when I put gas-charged shocks on my Ford Ranger work truck, so I am leery of those.

I hope to drive my PowerStroke all over this Nation
