6.4 with just a tune vs LBZ with just a tune the 6.4 ran a 13.6 to the D Max's 14.0. Same day. Same track. Both on stock trannies.

I think a moderate ppe tune would put the lbz in the 13's.

What tune for the 6.4? Eric will get you in mid 12s on just a tune

2010 F250.. Stock looking

Most tuned 6.4's get in the 12's with a crew cab 4x4. The only 14sec 6.4 i've seen still had the DPF intact. Duramaxes on the other hand really need that tranny rebuild right off the bat, and a lift pump, and some tierod sleeves, when the Ford can beat on the stock tranny for quite a few miles.

I was on Spartan 250 and he was on level 5 on the ppe hot +2. Both of us had stock trannies and at the time no money for a built tranny.

Sure, why not. I tow about 8-10k lbs. regularly...either my boat or work equipment. My 6.4l has better towing characteristics than my dad's '06 LBZ. The chevy wandered the road quite a bit more than F250. That's my real world experience...just saying.

No, I haven't driven an '11 dmax loaded(heavy)...towed two sea doos(not much of a load)...dmax did great, but so did the '11 F250 under the same load. The loaded chevy I was referring to was the LBZ that my dad used to own and my buddies LBZ.

I drove an '11 dmax first (grew up a chevy guy)when looking for a new truck, and it didn't impress me as much as the '11 F250 did...talking first impressions. The dmax was a nice, smooth riding truck, but the F250 felt more responsive(less lag) and the interior is more aesthetic to me. Everything about the F250 felt nicer and of better quality...I don't buy trucks to drag race...as long as they can pass the slow ass, moving road block drivers that don't deserve a license...then I'm happy! ha

Re: Seen this yet

Anyone else notice the dealer plate on the DMax? Im sure Taylor Chevy in Rexburg, ID would be very happy with the 21 year old hot rodding their truck.

Both of you had stock trannys and at the time no money for built tranny? I hope you are talking about him because you dont need the built tranny to run +310 and +325 tunes.. Alot of guys are running the +345 tune as a daily driver and racing too but it will start to take a toll on the TS after a while

It was a comfy but it doesn't even hold a candle to my stock 11 Superduty, the GMC was tuned and my Superduty out pulls it and the interior is nicer also (the GMC was fully loaded and my Superduty is a Lariat Ultimate). All I can say is that Ford makes the best trucks out there, if they didn't they wouldn't sell 2 HD pickups to every 1 sold by GM or Dodge combined!
If the allison was going out would be the only thing making me believe that.
