Re: MT truck of the year

Hmmm... I guess that the winner is now measured in 1/4 miles times! Haha, I guess if the Super Duty wasn't so fat (weight) it would have won. Thanks Ford for making such an obese truck, and for giving us a proven solid front axle instead of the IFS! Oh... Don't forget that crappy LCD display in the dash, who wants something like that? Who wants to be able to program different trailers into their truck? That would make it too easy! Then there is SYNC, man nobody wants that crap in their truck! We need IFS, a good 90's interior and a boxed frame! Ford, it is about time that you got on board with GM!

I wonder what that high altitude shootout would have been like if they had subtracted 800lbs. from the Ford's trailer to make both trucks evenly matched.

Who wants a lightweight heavy duty truck?

Re: MT truck of the year

Edit: There seems to be conflicting info on the weight differences. DP notes the difference as being 200lbs heaver for the Ford, while MT says it's 800?

I'm not knocking the GM, congrats to them. I think it's a little silly to say one brand is better than the other, but I don't think that a truck being lighter makes it better, which a lot of GM fans seem to think it a good thing.

IMO ford would be the winner because the weight advantage will help stop the trailer.. Who cares if someone beats you pulling by 1/8 mile, but when that little honda civic with the person on the phone pulls out infront of you is when its going to all matter

2010 F250.. Stock looking

What is right is not always popular, and what is popular is not always right.

Iirc the chevy did stop faster than the ford as well as getting it's self moving faster. I know the exhaust brake outperforms the Ford by a large margin which is a major factor when towing heavy. Like it or not Gov Motors is stealing Fords show.
