AFE Filters

Would like to know if anyone has actually tested the 3 different AFE filters that AFE offers to know if one performs better (as in flow and filtering out dirt and dust) than the other. I'm looking at getting one for my F350 and I'm not big on the oiled filters as my experience with them has shown they can cause an issue with the MAF meter. I'm considering purchasing the Pro Dry S because of this but am curious if anyone has tried one with negative results.

Re: AFE Filters

I have my Pro Dry S for about 2000 miles with no issues. I have never run an aFe before now so I can't compare it to anything but the Tymar on my old 7.3.

sagebel

the tymar you ran on your old 7.3 was it the wix 6673?
if so which do you think is better, if it's the AFE, where's the
cheapest place to buy?

Re: AFE Filters

I don't think I can really compare the two. I had the Tymar (6637) on my 7.3 and the aFe on my 6.7. For me to compare them wouldn't be right. I think there was a thread in the 7.3 section that put the 6637 vs. aFe.

Re: AFE Filters

I run the proguard 7 dry setup in my 6.0, it's been in there for probably 40k miles or so, cleaned it twice now, still works great. Glad I went with the dry filter.

Black smoke don't mean it's broke... it means your tuning sucks!
