More great economic news...

March jobs report: Jobs gain, unemployment falls - Apr. 1, 2011

Job reports are fantastic.

On a personal level my entire company is so busy at all 9 locations that we have set multiple all time sales records in Parts departments including my location. In fact we are opening up 2 new locations.

My sales backlog that has just been atrocious since 2007 is filled to the absolute brim now w/ a solid stream of income earning trucks.

The Kenworth factory that was building trucks in 3-4 weeks at the height of the recession now has the nearest build dates almost 5 months away indicating the entire nation is ordering trucks.

I'm getting calls for guys just dying to get new trucks from all over. The Midwest, CA, NJ, KS, etc... At first it was just in the oil industry but everyone is busy now.

Over the last 2 years I have sold things, rented out rooms, canceled subscriptions to everything, walked to buy groceries, quit eating out entirely, ate home cooked left over everyday, let the temp in my house be 55 degrees every night, chopped wood for heat, let it be 85 degrees during the summer indoors, charged my gf rent and made her buy lots of stuff, etc... I fully expect to continue managing my money well but also be able to enjoy life a bit more and to contribute to the economy by spending a bit as well. I wish everyone a prosperous year!

I'm officially...Stroke-less.

Good to hear. Things are doing great in our industry as well.

It sure would be nice if our grandchildrens grandchildren didnt have to pay for it though. I know what you are hinting at with this thread, but we would be in the same position without the ridiculous spending, we are Americans.

That is good news. It is about time we start moving forward. The only real drawback will be energy prices at this point. How people are going to be able to absorb that. But i did like what I heard this morning with the Job numbers. Keep it up.

Agriculture has been strong now for two years running for us. The past 5 months have been nothing but stellar!

What about food and clothing? Prices are getting out of hand!

Let us not forget the budget shortfalls........everywhere.

That is because the price of energy. The transporters are passing the buck onto the consumer. Also it is driving up the price of fertilizers.

Re: More great economic news...

That's good news. I personally still believe we have a long road ahead of us (as a nation) but it stuff like this that makes the outlook a lil better. I know that at the nursery that I work for we are digging and shipping more trees and plants than we have the last few years. Orders are larger this year from retailers that buy from us which makes me believe that they expect more sales this year, and since for private residents trees and shrubs are want not a need it makes me think people do have some extra money.
