I saw an article on this as I opened my email account this morning. Nothing starts the day off like a large dose of rage. While I understand the attempt to protect free speech, the lack of protection for the familys of the fallen is pathetic. Way to appreciate those that are out there sacrificing everything to give you the rights this country offers, a$$holes. I have never understood, why people say they hate this country so much and yet they still live here.... Dont like it? Get the fuk out! Sorry for the rant, this topic just pisses me off to no end. I hope I get to meet one of these individuals one day.....
While I completely disagree with the actions of the Westboro group, I hope that the court is wise enough to make very clear distinction between what constitutes harassment and what is protected free speech. The term harassment is very broad and can be easily taken to an extreme. We are becoming extremely sensitive people and it's anyones guess what someone might consider to be harassment. I'm not promoting the right to say anything to anyone but it can be a very slippery slope when exceptions or modifications are allowed to be made to existing rules.
The best thing we can take away from this, is the fact that we are still a free nation.
Now to figure out ways to legally counter these no good azzholes!
Never have so many politicians, screwed so many Americans...just to make one black person lose his job.
I'm glad that the Supreme Court ruled with Westboro, all though I hate what they are doing, the Constitution gives them the right. Seeing this just ensures when UUHC goes in front of the Supreme Court that there is that much better of a chance of it being ruled "Unconstitutional"
