Catholic or Christian?

Just kind of wondering who on here associates themselves with what Church. I'm Catholic but I've attended both services and to me, God is God and anywhere that I can hear is message is OK with me.

And I know that Catholicism is a type of Christianity, but you guys know what I mean.

Re: Catholic or Christian?

im a protestant christian. the thing i dont like about catholosism (i cant spell) is that they seem to be more about the virgin mary than christ or god himself. one example is the "hail mary" which i dont see to be right. you should ask god for forgiveness, not mary! im not bashin catholics, this is just what i have seen from catholics i have met so dont jump my case. maybe i have the wrong insight? i dunno.

Someone who believes in God, but does not associate themselves with specific Church. At least thats what I know it to be.

Re: Catholic or Christian?

Definition of agnostic: a person who claims that they cannot have true knowledge about the existence of God (but does not deny that God might exist).

I grew up in Baptist churches, but no longer associate myself with any religion whatsoever. I do believe in God, but have a completely different take on the Bible than traditional Christianity.

As long as you believe in Jesus with saving faith that he died for your sins, you love God with your all, and love other people you are a Christian. It's not about ceremony or tradition, and no works or hail marys will bring you before God as a righteous person. Only the saving grace of the sacrifice made can do this. If you know that you are a sinner of the worst kind and be humble before God, mercy will come no matter if you go to the Catholic or Methodist churches. It is Christ, not men who saves. If you worship idols, nature, and men, then you need to meet Christ.
