Re: Another good one ...

That is a good opinion piece with a few good facts thrown in there to support his statements. I agree with the article 100%.

well, Muskegon is a town of about 50,000, it's an old port/lumber town about halfway up the Lake Michigan shore, and has seen more than it's share of economic and social decline. It hosts some really rough neighborhoods, enough so to rival some of the Detroit ghettos, so it's really no shock, when this year:
*a woman beat to a pulp by her boyfriend died after 4 months in a coma,
*a toddler, in a stroller, was thrown into the river by her estranged 'sperm donor' (the toddler was rescued and survived)
*one of the elementary schools had to be closed because of unsafe levels of lead in the air
*a nine-year-old girl was abducted from a school bus stop, found partially naked in an alley 30 minutes later
*a grandmother took her two-year-old grandchild along to a burglary
*a man hit his estranged pregnant baby momma in the stomach with a frying pan, in hopes of inducing miscarriage.
*a man sexually assaulted......................................... .... a dog
*the typical "chinese restaraunt closed by health dept, when Inspectors found puppies and kittens in the freezer"
*the State Police took over one of two local departments when they failed an internal audit concerning money collected from defendants, inmates and probationers

that's just been since June...
