Class 8 Truck Orders Jump 37% in September, ACT Says

September orders of Class 8 trucks totaled 15,231 up 37% from a year ago, according to a report released Thursday by ACT Research Co.

I really feel we are on the verge of bouncing out of this hole. :)

That can't be right.

I heard from a friend, who knew a cousin, that was married to a classmate.......that truck orders were down.

Seriously though...........good news.

.

Never have so many politicians, screwed so many Americans...just to make one black person lose his job.

Alot of has to do with the introduction of Urea. Its allowing for better MPG

Re: More good news in the trucking industry...

You guys give lots of reasons for the increase but let me tell you the real reason.

THE ECONOMY HAS IMPROVED AND GOODS NEED TO BE MOVED DUE TO INCREASING CONSUMER DEMAND.

The problem with your theory Suns is there isnt much real economic improvement at this point. However there will be in the not so distant future

Re: More good news in the trucking industry...

All of you may be correct to a pointe, except maybe the urea comment. But, the industry has many aging trucks out there due to not buying as many the last few years. In a number of companies, at least the one I just left, if you got a truck with less than 600k on it, you had a new one. Now 600k isn't all that high of mileage for an Owner/Operator, they usually take care of their trucks. Big companies, and I've been with three of them, say they maintain them, but not really. Couple that with the "steeringwheel holders", in the big companies, and the trucks get the crap beat out of them. Therefore the increase of new truck orders. I'm not saying there aren't any, but the O/O I know, aren't buying new ones
Personally, I don't see the economy doing anything much, but I am in the newest third world country.

Another nonaligned spokesperson.

Good stuff, trucks bring it!

I don't care if my thread goes off topic, it's all BS anyway!!!
