So how do you vote...lesser of the two evils?

As much as I have hated to, in the past I have been known to vote for the lesser of the two evils even when there was a worthy third candidate.

I am happy to say today, during early voting, I voted exactly as I felt was the best for my Country, State & County even if that meant the worst of the candidates won. I even took the opportunity to right in a couple of candidates, one that did not win the nomination of their party and one that would be worthy of the position but refused to pay the fee to either one of the parties.

So that's my story for this year and will be my story for years to come.

I wish I could, I'd really would like to vote in Kathy Glass. She wont stand a chance against Perry or White though. I feel like I have to vote for Perry just to keep White out of office, even though I'm not a huge Perry fan. Just feel like I have to take one for the team sort of speek. The way I look at it either way sucks but one way sucks a lot more than the other. The 3rd choice would be great in every way but in the end I know she wouldnt win and who knows, the race could be so close that others in my situation could have the tipping point vote.

08 6.4 lots of stuff.

I do understand your point....

How can we expect either party to give us candidates worthy of electing when we vote for the crappy ones they do give us?

Very true, the problem is a double edged sword. On one side not enough people do there research on the canidates, they either look for a D or a R and thats how they vote. The other is the 3rd party canidates never seem to have enough funding to get there name out there and be heard. Corporations are to blame too, they dont back the right people. They only back the ones they feel they can have the most influence on to get what they want.

I just feel like I have to do what it takes to keep the worst from making it even more of a train wreck than it already is.

My answer to your question would be voter education. Maybe we need to make a demand for non campain funded or influenced educational information on all of our choices, since most wont do it them selves or just dont even tend to give it a thought.

I voted today and had the same problem. I wish Kathy Glass would have been able to get more air time, or atleast a commercial or two on TV. I threw my vote to Perry.....White would be a dissaster for sure. I was upset that there were 3 uncontested democrats on my ballot, oh well.

Its like being forced to eat at a resturant that you have to pay out the ass for and all thats on the menu is douche soup or turd sandwiches. I guess I'll vote for douche soup, just wish I could eat at the clean resturant accross the street with all the smart people lol.

Re: So how do you vote...lesser of the two evils?

For the first time ever I wrote in the name of someone that wasn't on the ballot. I know there will never be enough votes for the person to win but hopefully enough to let the "powers that be" know that people are putting thought into the election (local) and won't vote for just anyone.

2000 F350 PSD, 4X4, CC, LB, 6-speed/ PHP Tuning /1.0 Turbo (no wastegate) with WW/ 4" turbo back exhaust/ AIS Intake with fender sleeve/ Isspro EV gauges/

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should!

Re: So how do you vote...lesser of the two evils?

This goes back to the 2008 election, I didn't support McCain and to be honest, if he would have won I don't think things would have been all rosie. He was socialism light. I didn't like him, but I did like him better than Obama so he got my vote. I'm sorry, but when it is 45% Dem and 45% Reb and 5% Ipt even if I like the Ipt the best, I'm going to vote for the lesser of two evils. Now if it is 30%, 32% and 31% I will vote for who I think is the best candidate. I know it isn't the best situation, but I need to be able to sleep at night. JMO and I totally understand the voting for who is the best choice even if their is no way they will ever win. That is a commendable choice, I just can't go that far.
