UAW worker's pay

Wage inequity tears at unity of UAW members - Autos- msnbc.com

Quote:
For decades, the UAW tugged wages upward. In 1960, a UAW member made 16 percent more than the average American manufacturing worker. By 2006, the figure was 74 percent. Today, new hires in the UAW make about 20 percent less than the average.

I made this post to to be an example as to not all UAW members get paid what people think. Yes some get paid an amount that they really shouldnt get, and there are others like me that have had to do the work that 3 people used to do but are no longer with us due to budget cuts.

But right after the budget cuts one of the owners bought a 2010 corvette.

Yeah, because clearly every UAW worker makes 100k+ a year, has a cake job, and is just a lazy whiner.

I don't hear my Dad complaining, but then again, taking an ~25-30% pay cut isn't so bad when you are happy to still have a job. And he was never one to really complain anyways, but he never made $30/hr., except when he was working 65-70+ hours a week in the late 90's, and that being OT.
