I do believe I would have tried to beat the stuffing out of the old man.

It's ok, it's not an assult when a politician does it.

Entrepreneurs and their small enterprises are responsible for almost all the economic growth in the United States.

I do believe he would have had a broken nose. Then I would have told him "I am an American Citizen defending myself from attack".

Re: Congressman grabs questioner

If somebody was talking to me and then stuck a camera in my face and wouldnt say their name, much less give me a straight answer I would have done the same thing. Im not a politician I would have tossed that camera in the street or thrown him down/decked him.

I had to go to a two hour anger management class for something similar. I was PT-ing a deck on a parking garage for Metra and a guy kept coming over and taking pictures of me and telling me it was ruining his property. I didnt care that he wanted pics but when Im pulling cable nobody can be on the deck unless I or the guy slamming the cable jack say they can. I told him to leave three times and the last time he came up I threw the cam and bitch slapped him in the temple and knocked him unconscious. He "WON" I had to pay $75 for disorderly conduct that got removed from my record after I took the anger management class. The plaintiff was sued by Metra and had to pay $10k in fines and fees including the court costs. Worked out well for him I guess.

SOrry for the derail but when somebody approaches you and says more than hi they are initiating something. You've got every right to know who they are, what they want, and any other concerns you have. Freedom of the press doesnt mean #### in court.

You guys are right though. The "we're just students guy" could have hit back. The only problem though is there is more than one of them and he could have said he felt threatened, since they wouldnt tell him who they were and what they wanted. That would ruin their 'freedom of press' plea. You have to say who you are and what you want and then ask "do you agree with the Obama administrations..bla bla bla...A judge would have ruled in the politicians favor because he did walk away once he realized there was no threat.

Re: Congressman grabs questioner

The difference in my opinion is that he is a United States Congressman paid for by taxpayer money. He is/should be held to a higher standard.

Dem or Republican....it doesnt matter. I would have said the same thing if he was a Republican. That's unacceptable.

Well, the difference between your situation and the guy in the video is you were working, he was walking... All he had to do was keep on walking and ignore them. For you it was a safety hazard for the guy to be there, for the politician it was annoying at best for those students to be there.

Dont you feel he is probably somewhat of a target already? Didnt you get the feeling watching it that you were wondering what they wanted? He said who are you about 5 times. They finally said we're students. Not where from or what they wanted. He was trying to get the camera pointed away from himself initially which is fine if somebody is pointing it at you w/o permission.

I put a little blame in both directions but when two or more people are approaching you and they wont give a simple anwer to a simple question you'd be justified in feeling something is amiss. Id say he's not in the wrong simply because he restrained the person closest to him and then faced the others and asked "who are you! Tell me who you are?" Then he walked away when they wouldnt say anything to identify themselves. I think they were trying to ruffle his feathers.
