Texas Following Arizona.........???

Texas lawmaker to introduce anti-immigration bill

AUSTIN, Texas -- A Texas lawmaker says she plans to push for a law similar to Arizona's get-tough immigration measure.

San Antonio Express-News and Houston Chronicle report Wednesday that Republican Rep. Debbie Riddle of Tomball says she will introduce the measure in the January legislative session.

The new Arizona law would require local and state law enforcement to question people about their immigration status - and make it a crime for immigrants to lack registration documents.

Riddle says if the federal government did its job "Arizona wouldn't have to take this action, and neither would Texas.".......................

Well something needs to be done, but it's a little extreme to just walk up and ask for papers.

Heard on the news that California lawmakers are trying to Boycott AZ. Even threatening to pull the thousand of inmates out of their prisons that we're keeping there. Gosh I bet AZ is happy that they made this law. I say good for them! More states need to follow suit!

Completely OT: Monk, I could have swore I saw that Lovely Pete in your sig about 2-3 months ago in NE Austin. Hauling an end dump I think.

I remember thinking, "man that thing should be parked in my living room not hauling dirt!"

Same truck or just coincidence?

I'm officially...Stroke-less.

Re: Texas Following Arizona.........???

Hey so my dad has this idea and I kinda like it. Everyone who wants to come in from the mexican and canadian border that are not citizens pay 500 dollar fees to cross. we give them a 6 month pass to be here.... when they go back to visit fam every 6 months to a year we hit em up for another 500 buck. he had all the numbers and figured it would add up to 2.5 billion a year that the american ppl dont pay for... think about i guys.
