Obama's disregard for media reaches new heights at nuclear summit

Obama's disregard for media reaches new heights at nuclear summit

This is not the first time the media has complained about access.

Quote:
The only part of the summit, other than a post-meeting news conference, that was visible to the public was Obama's eight-minute opening statement, which ended with the words: "I'm going to ask that we take a few moments to allow the press to exit before our first session."

Reporters for foreign outlets, admitted for the first time to the White House press pool, got the impression that the vaunted American freedoms are not all they're cracked up to be.

Yasmeen Alamiri from the Saudi Press Agency got this lesson in press freedom when trying to cover Obama's opening remarks as part of that limited pool: "The foreign reporters/cameramen were escorted out in under two minutes, just as the leaders were about to begin, and Obama was going to make remarks. . . . Sorry, it is what it is."
What access has the media had in prior summits?

I can only assume they were expecting at least some access or there would have been reason for them to attend.

I agree. Even though we do have "Freedom of the Press", if the press would keep their noses out of alot of things, we would be alot better off. IMO

Right-wing media mock Obama's "vast nuclear experience" before becoming president
Palin mocks the "vast nuclear experience" Obama gained "as a community organizer and as a part-time senator." During her April 9 speech at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, Palin said: "Now, the president, with all the vast nuclear experience that he acquired as a community organizer and as a part-time senator, and as a full-time candidate, all that experience, still no accomplishment to date with North Korea and Iran."

Ingraham: Obama "had no nuclear experience, and became president of the United States." Discussing Obama's exchange with Palin on the April 9 edition of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor, Ingraham stated, "He says, 'I'm not going to comment on that,' and then he says, 'well, she has no nuclear experience.' And of course, he had no nuclear experience and became president of the United States."

Hannity: Obama's nuclear experience comes from "his days as a community organizer." On the April 9 edition of his Fox News program, Sean Hannity said, "I guess the president got a lot of nuclear policy experience during his days as a community organizer in Chicago, alongside his pal, the unrepentant terrorist, Bill Ayers."

It was multiple reporters. What about transparency?

It would help credibility, if even a modicum of research was done prior to posting to verify its authenticity.

Without research, it just makes it look like some people will latch on to anything................regardless of its veracity.

I really thought you were above that.
