Re: More oil news-

Old news.

Bakken was the big talk a year or so ago when there was an email rumor that went around claiming that there was 500 billion barrels of oil available. Obviously it wasn't true.

Please entertain me as to why all the energy groups of which I am surrounded of at all times are gearing for the Dakotas???? I dont get my information from a roughneck either FWIW....

Cant read all the facts on Snoops buddy..... Might not be 500 billion barrrels but there is a very large pool of oil up there.... Biggest problem is the two starts are harder on the oil field and the folks involved than Penn State and New York combined.

Cool, then you can tell me where Bakkan ranks in comparison to other oil fields around the world.

In addition you can tell me how much of that oil is recoverable with the current technology, and how much we can recover each year. And on top of that, you can tell me at what price point crude oil would need to be trading in order to make the bulk of Bakkan oil viable.

Thanks for playing.

I honestly dont give two sh$ts about around the world or how much is recoverable..... I get paid to keep the rigs off the dreaded "DOWN TIME" day/night/365DPY. I pay close attention to the explorers and ground thumper croud. Pay real close attention to directional drillers and Highly paid "company men". They dont publish on the WWW sorry.

Well, Being your such a fact nut....nothing wrong with that... but REAL wprld facts are much different than everything you read on the internet all day from a variety of websites....with snoops obviously being your number 1 site.

There are millions of dollars being poured into refurbing and winterizing rigs to move into the northern portion of United States. But what do I know, I just finished up 8 Rig refurbs in Arkansas---granit these are going to Penn State there are more heading Strait north to the Liberal land.

Oil and Gas recovery is much much much more sophisticated than it was even two years ago....I could try and explain things to you that you would only argue with after you did your internet research..... I live it dont just google it.

But to be honest with you right now the bigger drilling contractors are more worried about the Shale in the Appalachian Mountain area. Oil is to follow... Gas is much more fun to drill for. I try and stay on the NG side of things.

I have no factual data as to what they can extract from the inerds of the earth, I just know where the money is being funneled to currently.

Follow the money. Cant find that on Snoops.
Im not trying to bash you here Pocket, just saying that you will never get the complete story from the internet. Read what you want but the truth is generally hidden within the tight nit oil/gas industry and not on the WWW.

You're entire post was avoidance, plain and simple, and it started all with the very first sentence. I highlighted it in bold, because it clearly states your position in this thread.

And no where in my last post did I ask you to look up Snopes. In fact, to answer those questions, you would have to look at the U.S. Energy Department, USGS, and various other sources of information... which so happen to be real world facts, not just internet mumbo jumbo.

Besides, tell me what I've said in this thread that was wrong. Pappy started this thread because of another thread in which we brought this up. Funny part is, I stated the USGS facts about Bakkan, and Pappy attacked me on it. Now he started this thread with a link to the USGS, as if suddenly he's the one to "inform the rest of us".

Re: More oil news-

Pocket, you are a internet know it all... I actually do appreciate the fact you look for facts instead of rediculous theory's. One thing I have WATCHED AND WATCHED from your many many posts in the political thread is the fact your accepting socialism with your factual data you constantly produce.

Plain and simple. And yes my first line does show avoidance.... But the fact of the matter is it is mostly internet mumbo jumbo, and following the money trail is much more FACTUAL than reading the internet.

Do you seriously think all these large corp and companies are sitting there thinking... WE NEED TO PUBLISH ON THE WWW????? hell no.

They could give a fck less about what you know and what you have found off snoops(snopes).

I referenced snopes because I know you get alot of info there. But its a fact and fiction website and even snoops is full of shat half the time.

Get out of your dark den or whatever your sitting in and experience some real world!!!

Im just glad there still "TRYING" to explore energy sources in the USA.

Re: More oil news-

I believe that every oil field that we can find here in the USA is a great thing.

The part that keeps being ignored however, is that it has to be financially viable to extract.

And here's the kicker; If oil stays low like most of us want it.......then the oil companies aren't as interested in trying to get the tougher stuff.

So, the real incentive for oil companies to explore is...........high crude prices.

Maybe I'll get back into crude futures and see what I can do to help out.
