Time to succeed from the union?

Idaho says NO to health care reform

Quote:
BOISE, Idaho – Idaho took the lead in a growing, nationwide fight against health care overhaul Wednesday when its governor became the first to sign a measure requiring the state attorney general to sue the federal government if residents are forced to buy health insurance.

Similar legislation is pending in 37 other states.

Constitutional law experts say the movement is mostly symbolic because federal laws supersede those of the states.
How much evidence does Washington D.C. need that people don't approve of the direction this is headed?

If a state decides to secede............it certainly won't succeed.

While those opposed outnumber those in favor right now, it's not exactly an overwhelming majority.

Health Care Polls

Average: 41% For......49% Against

Let's not also forget, that the 'anti' crowd has done a much better job of spreading fear and lies (death squads anyone? ) than those pushing it.

Regardless of polls, it's the right thing to do IMHO.

After all, look at how many people were also against the Civil Rights Act and........................................... it certainly was the right thing to do.

Never have so many politicians, screwed so many Americans...just to make one black person lose his job.

How many of the 41% for actually pay taxes. In my opinion if you are on gov assistance you don't have a say.

It's not just those that are on gov. assistance that don't pay taxes.

There are also a lot of young, single filers (including head of households) that have no tax liability.

Personally, I think the "right" thing to do is to fix healthcare.

However, I don't think any of the proposed legislature has actually nailed it yet.

But everyone has their opinions as to how we should fix the problem. So I guess we'll see.

So far, Washington isn't paying attention to me.

I used spell check, evidently succeed came up before secede did...but you're right...

A law like this has only been passed in one state but the fact that it has been proposed in 38 states seems like a strong message to me. Anybody listening anymore?

In general I still believe that the states know what's best for the people that live there...not D.C.

I agree that it hasn't been "nailed."

I'm not even sure it will be for another 10 years.

I personally think that at this juncture though, passing the bill is the only way we will ever get on the path to getting it right. We can fine tune it along the way.

There hasn't been the collective will, or majority, to do anything up to this point and I think that it would be a long, long, long time.......... before it would ever be attempted again.

They never have.

They never will.

As long as you and I aren't the ones stuffing the most money in their coffers.
