if george bush was an idiot....

i cant even read this without getting pis$ed off

If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan's holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?
If George W Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia , would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had visited Austriaand made reference to the non-existent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?
If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current in their income taxes, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to "Cinco de Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment?
If George W. Bush had mis-spelled the word "advice" would you have hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and potatoe as proof of what a dunce he is?
If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he's a hypocrite?
If George W. Bush's administration had okayed Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually get what happened on 9-11?
If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans, would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?
If George W. Bush had created the position 32 or moreCzars who report directly to him, bypassing the House and Senate on much of what is happening in America, would you have approved.
If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?
If George W Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had spent more than all the Presidents combined since George Washington, would you have approved?

So, tell me again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and impressive? Can't think of anything? Don't worry. He's done all this in 10 months -- so you'll have 3years and 2months to come up with an answer.

Don't you know that you can't do anything wrong with a (D) after your name and title? I believe the (D) stands for Dunce so you automatically get a free pass

Then perhaps you should have verified the authenticity of what was said in the email. If you did, you would have discovered it's mostly fabricated lies and half-truths. It would have saved you the headache of being pissed off.

Quote:
If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how he inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?
Sit back and think of how dumb that statement is. Reagan used a teleprompter, George H.W. Bush used one. Clinton used one. etc. So what's the point?

Quote:
If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?
Think about this.... did Laura Bush NEVER leave the White House? Did George and Laura Bush NEVER do anything together? Because I'm pretty sure they often travelled together, attended entertainment events together, etc... all of that cost money too. So again, another pointless statement in the email. It's nothing more than a sorry attempt to incite anger without the least bit of logic attached to it.

Quote:
If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan's holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved?
Well, unfortunately the first round of bailouts started with George Bush. He is the one who initially gave GM money, and in turn the government became stakeholders in the company. So in this instance, both Bush and Obama share responsibility.

Quote:
If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?
It's well known by both sides of the isle that Bush was a terrible public speaker, and often mis-spoke, and even offended people here and there. Again, another pointless statement in the email.

Or if you consider it a valid point, then may I remind you of George Bush's microphone mishap during the G-8 summit....

Quote:
If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?
True, that was a dumb gift. I'm not going to sugar coat that one.

Quote:
If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?
Yes Obama gave the Queen an iPod, but that's where the truth of this statement ends.

The iPod was actually filled with popular broadway songs, as well as video footage of her visit to the U.S. in 2007. It did NOT contain speeches by Obama, so the email is just flat out lying there. In addition, Obama gave the Queen a rare autographed songbook signed by Richard Rogers, something that is often left out of the story.

In turn, the Queen gave Obama a framed picture of herself and Prince Philip (this is considered a standard gift when visiting the queen).

Quote:
If George W Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia , would you have approved?
No, but he did hold hands. I'm sure if Obama did it, everyone would think he's gay.

All joking aside on that one, yes it's controversial that he bowed. Does it in any way hurt you and me? No. Has anything significant come from that? No. In fact, nothing has changed because of that bowing incident.

Quote:
If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?
Yeah, that was pretty funny. Kinda like the 57 state mess up.

But once again, mistakes happen, and George Bush made plenty of them too. Can't point out every little mistake of one president and ignore all the mistakes of another.

Quote:
If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current in their income taxes, would you have approved?
Bush's cabinet wasn't free from scandal either.

Quote:
If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to "Cinco de Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment?
George Bush did speak Spanish on many occasions... and made mistakes. He also greeted the Italian Prime Minister in Spanish once.

Quote:
If George W. Bush had mis-spelled the word "advice" would you have hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and potatoe as proof of what a dunce he is?
WTF is the point of this?

Quote:
If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he's a hypocrite?
Does anyone see the humor in this one? I see more posts in this forum bashing hippy liberal tree huggers, so this should be funny to most. Heck, if given the chance, I would have done that as a slap in the face to tree huggers too.

Quote:
If George W. Bush's administration had okayed Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually get what happened on 9-11?
Well, Obama didn't approve it, Louis Caldera did. And because of that, he resigned. So yes it was a mistake, and it was dealt with too.

Ask yourself what would have happened if the same mistake was made while Bush was in office? In all likelihood, a resignation would have resulted too.

Quote:
If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans, would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?
Not sure what the point of this is. Katrina was way worse than the flooding in the Midwest. Much higher body count and homelessness.

Quote:
If George W. Bush had created the position 32 or moreCzars who report directly to him, bypassing the House and Senate on much of what is happening in America, would you have approved.
Actually, he did. More than Obama:

Quote:
If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?
No, and we didn't approve it when Obama did either. In fact, I don't remember us approving George Bush bailing out GM in the first place.

Quote:
If George W Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?
Proposed? Obama never proposed to double the national debt in one year. In addition, he didn't double the national debt in one year. Bush is responsible for the debt accumulating from October 2008 to September 2009. Why? Because it was under his administration when the budget was passed, so that's what Obama was working on. In addition, Bush passed the first round of bailouts towards the end of his presidency, with half of it not even allocated by the time Obama took office. In other words, Obama spent the money that Bush already approved for spending. And then of course added on top of it.

By the way, the email is confusing "debt" with "deficit". Read up on the meaning of each one, and how they have been increasing in the past 10 years. Then you'll get a better picture.

Quote:
If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?
Bush did just about double the national debt while he was in office. Pretty damn close actually.

Quote:
If George W. Bush had spent more than all the Presidents combined since George Washington, would you have approved?
This assumes total dollars, and historical dollars that haven't been adjusted for inflation. This also doesn't include percentage of GDP. If you take those inflationary factors and GDP, you'll find that neither Bush or Obama have hit records.

In terms of total dollars though, Bush holds 4 of the top 5 spots for spending. In a way, the email actually slams Bush here.

Well, the email is right here. Obama hasn't done anything to make him out to be brilliant and impressive. But the email does try to make Obama look worse than he actually is by presenting lies, half-truths, and omission of facts.
