Neither are factual or accurate.
there is no measure of accuracy in relation to fact, it is either fact or fiction.
I realize my favorite medias are bias opinion based fiction just like any other media source.
As soon as snopes steps into the political environmental and financial arena they are no different.
Using snopes as "factual" reference is preposterous, thier fact checking and popularity is accounted for in the same manner as any other media source.
People too lazy or with out the mental capacity to research and think for themselves rely on a source to do it for them.
They do post references of where they source their information. Media doesn't always do that. In fact, media quite often report news based on anonymous information.
Now, let's say you are writing an academic paper, research report, technical report, etc.... standard practice is to CITE YOUR SOURCES.
Snopes isn't perfect, but they are much more reliable because they do post information in an academic and research focused manner.
And if you want lazy and pathetic, it's the people who blindly believe any story they get. At least starting by looking at Snopes is a step towards trying to find truth in a story, or at least get a bigger picture of a story.
Lastly, if you have such an issue with Snopes, then you will also have a big problem with ALL the other well know fact checking websites, since they all tend to agree with each other almost every single time.
