Whatever you're reading... they are smoking crack.

Obama isn't making it politically incorrect to say Merry Christmas. And yes, the Obama's took delivery of a Christmas tree for the White House. Watch the video in the link:

Re: Politically correct or incorrect?

By the way, neither phrase (Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays) offends me. It's a free country, people can say whatever they want.

Did anyone ever think that "Happy Holidays" might refer to both Christmas and New Years????

Yes I thought of that, my parents run a store and say Merry Christmas and almost everyine likes it but they've said quite the few have frowned on it.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New years sounds better to me than happy holidays.

Let them frown on it if they want. That free speech thing is reciprocal. Everyone has the right to say Merry Christmas to anyone else, just like others have the right to say Happy Holidays too.

If someone takes offense to either, then they need to get their panties unbunched.

And bravo to your parent's for sticking to their guns and saying what they want.

Me too. But I'll admit that I've been guilty every now and then for saying Happy Holidays as a shortcut.

Re: Politically correct or incorrect?

Your country, like mine was founded on christian values, prospered under those same values, with all the rights that go with those beliefs. If the values of our country upset them, then go back to where they come from.
We do not stop or try to change their right to their beliefs, or their right to freedom of speech that they enjoy in OUR COUNTRY.
It will always be MERRY CHRISTMAS because we are a christian nation.
Our fathers, grand fathers, great grand fathers, even some of us ourselves
fought for this right & so many died standing up for the rights of these great christian nations.
