Re: Reason to be proud of Obama?

At least he is not repeating the mistakes of Vietnam and apparently listening to the generals and not the military strategy ignorant liberals and peacenics.

Politicians like Pelosi don't know jack sh*t about military planning and strategy. They need to shut T.F.U. and let the military leadership do their jobs. If the generals say the war needs to be fought with more troops, do it. If they say we need to get out, then leave.

There is nobody on capitol hill that wants to fight a war less than the people in the Pentagon. Saying anything else is misguided. Generals were not born generals. Every general or admiral in existance started out as a privates, airmen, seamen, ensigns or 2nd Lt's. They all got their hands and boots dirty at the begining of their careers and know what it is like to be in the trenches. Nobody has a more justifiable desire to not be in a war than a soldier. But if a soldier says the battle needs to be fought, then give him the resources to fight it.

Re: Reason to be proud of Obama?

I always wondered if one reason we keep our armies in the region might be Iran.

Our large number of forces in Afghanistan and Iraq as well as assets staged in Turkey and Saudi Arabia could be dispatched in a worst case scenario.

Oh and........Obama will loose support with many of the anti war leftest who will be sitting on their hands come the next election cycle.

I'm ready to bring the troops home from Iraq and Afghanistan.

If only those who knew what they were talking about replied, this thread would still be on page one.

The leason to be learned here.....

Get in, get the job done, and get out.

We need to stop d!cking around in these countries and let the Military kick ass like it has been trained to do. Strict ROE = a good way to get a soldier killed.

Hate to say it but we are reaping what we sowed. We backed any nut case or other group we could to fight the russians in afghanistan and when they russians backed out we abandoned them. Now were paying the price.

True to a extent... the biggest problem is not alowing what our military is built to do do. Go in, take over, and get out... We are not set up to be peace keepers and should not be.

The people in these countrys need to step up, if they wont then bring our people home, tighten security here and be done with the rest of those ####e hole countrys. I firmly believe that those people DO NOT want happyness, do not want peace and only want sadness and death.
