Economy... Fixed...

Dear Mr. President, Please find below my suggestion for fixing America 's economy.

Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on Lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan. You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:

There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. - Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement

With the following stipulations:

1) They MUST retire.. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.

2) They MUST buy a new American CAR. Forty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed.

3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing Crisis fixed.

It can't get any easier than that!

P.S. If more money is needed, have all members in Congress and their constituents Pay their taxes...

And Mr. President...while you're at it...make congress retire On Social Security and Medicare...I'll bet both programs would be Fixed...pronto!!

Re: Economy... Fixed...

Funny, but...

1. The money given to the retirees still comes from you and me
2. Many of the unemployed would rather remain on unemployment - these are the ones who voted in the socialist administration we currently enjoy

I say, cut ALL the socialist programs such as Medicare, Social Security, Public schools, (the list here is quite long) etc. Let the old folks retire with their families. Make all the married ladies stay home instead of working in order to take care of the old folks and PROPERLY educate the young ones - also opening up LOTS of jobs for the unemployed men. Take the money saved and invest in agriculture and industry again to reduce the cost of living here and regain our viability as an independent, free country. Lets keep OUR money in OUR pockets and take care of (and responsibility for) OUR own...

Re: Economy... Fixed...

I certainly didn't mean cut the benefits while still taking the money! However, if you think you are going to see your money again, I would like to share your crack pipe. The program should never have been started in the first place, but MY money and YOUR money is GONE. Let's cut our losses. Socialism does not a make a sustainable economy, just as homesexuality does not make a sustainable population. You have to make MORE deposits than withdrawals for the system to work. We have been doing the opposite for far too long.

Oh, I have been paying into the system for a while too. I don't like losing money any better than you. However, if all these programs were cut, the tax money that would remain in your pocket would MORE than make up for a loss of social security checks. Think LONG term...

Yeah, if we listened to some of the old guys in the 40's (or earlier), we might have prevented the landslide. But, you don't boil a frog quickly and expect him to comply. We have been comfortable and been encouraged (in words) by Big Brother for decades and few have noticed the effect.
