And a lack of insurance doesn't have the same result?

Defacto Death Panels

Quote:
Going without health insurance can delay when people obtain primary and preventative care, potentially resulting in poorer health. Even more gravely, a lack of private health insurance brings an increased risk of death; uninsurance is to blame for some 44,789 adult deaths across the U.S. every year, according to a new study published online today in the American Journal of Public Health.

Not if you believe the numbers.

We have a population of 300 million and the lack of private insuranse causes 44k deaths each year.

The UK has a population of 60 million and 139k deaths each year due to their LCP.

Pretty obvious Mr Gandy? Do you know the percentage of the population? UK = .2% , U.S = .01%. Holy cow!!!!!

Here you and your gibronies go and trying to make a mountain out of a ant hill.

Re: Socialized medicine leads to euthanasia

I guess the fact that we already have socialized medicine for the same elderly as in the UK article.....never dawned on you knee-jerk reactors.

The 44K cited, are the ones who are too young to qualify for Medicare.

Now let's throw in the number of people who do have health insurance, but their policies don't cover certain conditions or that they reach their maximum lifetime benefits.

YOU compared the elderly in the UK to the uninsured in the US and asked;

Re: Socialized medicine leads to euthanasia

Socilized Medical care should exist in a very basic capacity w/ limited funds spent. Bang for the buck. This means 98 year olds don't get new livers.

Those that chose to can then purchase supplemental private "cadillac" health insurance that covers what I call 'the Terri Shivo situation' Medical care dollars being wasted in astronomical sums for who knows what. If you want a private hospirtal room when recovering from surgery instead of a hospital ward, no problem just purchase supplemental health insurance. You want to be kept on the machines for 16 years after you go in to a coma, the State gives you a week after the doctor's say your brain dead but the supplemental insurance can keep you slobbering for another 40 years for all I care.

I'm officially...Stroke-less.
